Small stones along my path
This collection of mini paintings is the fruit of my recent work on texture.
From discovering the trickle and effects that can be achieved with very liquid paint, to the traces left by a brush loaded with very thick paint,
From scraping, erasing and mixing directly on canvas, to the pleasure of working on raw, uncoated wood, which absorbs the liquid differently,
Texture is a world of its own.
A world to explore.

I had hardly touched on it in my last years of work, I already had so much to discover and learn especially with color.
And then this year, almost naturally, texture came to the forefront, just when I was starting to get a little bored.
Texture is perhaps the neglected friend who stays all alone in his corner, the one who is a little underestimated. But ultimately I realized the joy I had in spending time with my friend texture.

small stones to mark my path
Of course, you will find my favorite theme in these works: mountains and glaciers, the blue-green of alpine lakes, or a touch of the cobalt blue of mountain skies.
But each of them is a different exploration of texture. These miniatures will soon give rise to an exciting transposition onto a larger format. This work has already begun. These small paintings are modest, but each one is a small stone that marks my path. I hope you enjoy walking along it.
